In their efforts to become more safe and efficient, ports and terminals are relying on technology. As a maritime professional, it is important to have an
understanding of the technology of today and tomorrow, which contributes to the optimization of port operations, but also to learn how to identify and implement the most relevant tools.
What ?
In taking this course, you will understand the potential and necessary elements of automation & digitalisation in ports & terminals, but also get more insights on the overall supply chain, the role of various involved stakeholders and planning processes at ports &
terminals. We will discuss current & emerging technologies, innovations and their impact on port operations. Think of Port Management and Port Community Systems, Terminal Operating Systems, but also Artificial Intelligence, Internet of Things, digital twins and the use of
drones. In a broader context the maritime industry is also adhering to the FAL convention and its obligation to implement a Maritime Single Window system, a topic we will address during the course. As the digital age is in full development, it is of utter importance to understand the role of technology in the port industry, but also to understand the challenges it brings on cyber security and management. We will dive into measures on IT
security, governance and redundancy. The training will consist of lectures and workshops in a class-room set-up, with active participation from Indian experts from the private sector.

This programme is directed towards port professionals working for port authorities, port management companies, terminal operators and port consultants, who are directly or indirectly engaged in areas of IT, innovation, digital transformation, smart port development and eager to learn more on how technology is used in other port environments globally.

The course fee covers course material, airport pick-up / drop off, accommodation
( 5 nights in a twin sharing room) and all meals and beverages ( no GST included)
A single room can be provided at an additional cost of Rs 20 000 and is subject to availability
Please note that the registration fee must be received by JNPA-APEC in full; meaning all national and international taxes, bank costs etc. need to be covered by the participant.
